For nearly 30 years, Robert Del
Conte was the driving force behind San Felipe Humanitarian
Alliance. Under his guidance, San Felipe evolved from a small
group home for abused and neglected children into a respected
humanitarian organization serving people in crisis around
the world.

No need was too small or too large
for Bob. Whether he was helping a mother find a runaway teen
or helping a community rebuild their lives in the aftermath
of human conflict or natural disaster, he approached everything
he did with the same tenacious energy and commitment.

It is impossible to say how many
men, women, and children were touched by his selfless humanitarian
endeavors at home and abroad. He developed standards of care
to improve the quality of life of children in foster, adoptive
or institutionalized care. He developed innovative strategies
to expedite relief for victims of war and disaster. He developed
ground-breaking outreach programs for homeless youth and their
families. And without exception, Bob developed eternal bonds
with everyone who was fortunate enough to benefit not only
from his assistance, but from his presence in their lives.
His counsel and friendship will never be forgotten. His vision
and spirit will live on through the ongoing work of San Felipe
Humanitarian Alliance. In the words of his longtime friend
and colleague, Andrew J. DePaolo, "Bob's work will inspire
all of us at San Felipe to preserve his legacy for the benefit
of children and families throughout the world."
