In partnership with GOAL-Ireland, the Alliance funded water system in northern Ethiopia during one of the worst droughts in the country's history, providing water solutions at a clinic, primary school, and the entire community. Still in use today, with the community again preparing for a massive drought that threatens to imperil the most vulnerable. SFHA will continue to monitor the situation to help GOAL-Ireland to maintain water.

The UN now projects 50 million people could be at risk of death due to the ongoing climactic events around El Niño drought and flooding in Ethiopia in 2027-2028, triggering irregular migration and devastating economic and social impacts across the region.
